Male Allies Show Love Through Action at Portland Slutwalk 2015

The Walk itself covered a portion of Southwest downtown Portland. Many people were unaware that Slutwalk even existed. Most seemed to be supportive, once they found out what the message was.

A male Slutwalk supporter confronts a group of protesters. The group of four protesters were there at the beginning of the walk and were yelling all sorts of insults in the fashion of the Westboro Baptist Church. Though, they themselves said they were not affiliated with any particular organization. The confrontation stayed nonviolent, and Slutwalk organizers encouraged participants to ignore the protesters.

Male supporters were there to add their voices to the cause. Many showed up with female friends who were part of the walk.

Many signs were made and carried in the walk. The men who were there are very supportive of the movement, and want to do what they can to help end rape culture.

Male supporters, young and old, were prevalent throughout the walk, helping to spread the message that no one deserves to be sexually assaulted, regardless of how they dress or how sexually active they choose to be.

Most humans are born with sexual desire, yet society sends a message that it is somehow wrong or something to be ashamed of. Questioning the reasoning behind this double standard is also a part of what Slutwalk is all about.

More and more males are raising their voices, decrying rape and rape culture.

No. Means. No. Many statistics were on signs, to help educate the public about what is going on.

Portland Slutwalk 2015 was held on Sunday, September 20 in SW downtown.
